I’m Harry. In 2016, Spencer and I both went low-carb and high-protein, and jerky became our daily snack. Finding a decent batch was the hard part. We kept driving farther to find one, until it made more sense to make our own.

Coach Chris Cucchiara, our co-founder, was one of the first people who believed in Primal500. He has spent more than 45 years working in health, fitness and wellness, and he coaches people on how to live well and stay strong.

From jerky to meat boxes

In 2022, after COVID exposed real gaps in the grocery supply chain, we moved beyond snacks. Some weeks the store had no protein at all, and once that happens to you, you stop trusting the shelf.

Primal500 became beef, pork and chicken from American ranchers we work with directly.

Why do we stop at 500 families?

At 500 families, we can vet each rancher ourselves, watch our inventory, and keep our promises to the people who raise the meat and the people who eat it. Past that, we would be guessing about where some of it came from.

When does my box arrive?

Order by 10 AM Pacific (1 PM Eastern), Monday through Thursday, and your box usually ships that day. FedEx estimates delivery the next business day, flash frozen.

Weather and holidays can shift those dates, so check your tracking. We ship to the contiguous U.S. See our shipping page to confirm your address.

Why is it so hard to trust meat at a regular grocery store?

Most of us buy meat the same way: one store, one stretch of the aisle, and a label we hope is telling the truth. When a package says “grass-fed,” you are trusting a stranger’s word. We do the vetting ourselves, so you don’t have to.
