Beef Jerky on Whatnot: How Our Live Shows Work

Primal 500 sells beef jerky in live shows on Whatnot, an app and website where sellers sell on live video. Our first show is Tuesday, November 3 at 7:00 PM Pacific (10:00 PM Eastern), hosted by Harry Grundmann, our founder. Korean Barbecue, our newest flavor, is on sale first on Whatnot and is not on our website yet. Our bundles are sold only on Whatnot for now. To buy, you need a Whatnot account with a payment method and a shipping address saved.

When are the shows?

We go live on Tuesdays and Fridays. The first show, on Tuesday, November 3, starts at 7:00 PM Pacific. Friday shows start at the same time. Each show is planned for about 30 minutes.

To get a reminder, follow Primal 500 on Whatnot or bookmark the show listing. Whatnot sends a push notification when a seller you follow goes live and when a bookmarked show starts, as long as your notification settings allow it.

What do we sell in the shows?

We sell brisket beef jerky in three flavors. Harry calls it a soft jerky, and what makes jerky soft or tough is covered in Why Is Some Beef Jerky Soft and Some Tough?

• Black Pepper & Sea Salt: Harry describes it as classic jerky with black pepper and sea salt.
• Sweet & Spicy: a teriyaki flavor with a little spice, according to Harry.
• Korean Barbecue: Our newest flavor, on sale first on Whatnot. Harry says it tastes like bulgogi, the Korean marinated beef dish.

Our Tender Brisket Beef Jerky page lists only Black Pepper & Sea Salt and Sweet & Spicy at the moment. How to Read a Beef Jerky Label reads those two bags line by line. It does not cover Korean Barbecue, so read the ingredient list and any allergen line on that bag before you eat it.

We also sell bundles and cases, and they are sold only on Whatnot for now. The 3-pack sampler has one of each flavor.

How do I buy during a show?

1. Add a payment method and a shipping address in your Whatnot account settings. Whatnot says to add both before you bid or buy. It accepts cards and other methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, depending on your device and location.
2. Follow us or bookmark the show so Whatnot can notify you.
3. When the show starts, open it from our Whatnot page.
4. Buy during the show. Whatnot sellers sell by auction, by Buy It Now (a fixed price, no bidding) or both. In an auction, tap Bid, or Custom to set a maximum bid. For Buy It Now, open the seller's shop, go to the Buy It Now tab, select the item and tap Buy Now. 
5. After you buy, find the order under Activity > Purchases.
   
   

What if something is wrong with my order?

Report it through Whatnot. Go to Activity > Purchases, select the order and tap "Get help with this purchase." Whatnot's help page says to contact Whatnot before the earlier of 30 days from purchase or 14 days from delivery. Whatnot sends the request to the seller or to Whatnot Support.
